“USING YOUR CAMERA” WORKSHOP
November 14th, 3 - 6 pm
Have you always wanted to get into shooting photos and videos, but you just don’t know where to start? Perhaps you’ve even bought your own camera, but the technical options and controls are overwhelming, and so it has sat around gathering dust.
Well, this 3-hour workshop is designed to help you blow that dust off your camera and get straight into using it. Over the course of this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how cameras work, what to look for when buying a new or used one, what to prioritize when upgrading your gear, how to get good exposures, and all the tips and tricks you need to get your journey started.
The Backlot has its own mirrorless cameras, but it is best for participants to bring their devices. The focus of this workshop will be on familiarizing participants with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, regardless of brand. But still, you know it’s something you need to learn…
Well, this 3-hour video editing workshop is designed specifically to teach you simple, repeatable behaviors and steps that will get you straight into editing with the software professionals use. Over the duration of this hands-on workshop, which will focus on learning tools in Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve, you’ll learn how to set up your files to make editing easier and avoid errors, the step-by-step flow of using these editing systems, what settings to prioritize for different video types, the language of professional editing, and all the tips and tricks you need to get your journey started.
The Backlot has its own computers with editing software preloaded, but it is best for participants to bring their own computers, if possible.
