So you shot something, and now it’s time to edit your footage. And, as easy as booting up CapCut is, you know there is a better way, but every time you’ve thought about using or opened a professional video editor, you are overwhelmed by the number of choices and decisions you have to make just to get started. But still, you know it’s something you need to learn…
Well, this 3-hour video editing workshop is designed specifically to teach you simple, repeatable behaviors and steps that will get you straight into editing with the software professionals use. Over the duration of this hands-on workshop, which will focus on learning tools in Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve, you’ll learn how to set up your files to make editing easier and avoid errors, the step-by-step flow of using these editing systems, what settings to prioritize for different video types, the language of professional editing, and all the tips and tricks you need to get your journey started.
The Backlot has its own computers with editing software preloaded, but it is best for participants to bring their own computers, if possible. The focus of this workshop will be familiarizing participants with Adobe Premiere and some DaVinci Resolve, but all of the tools and advice are applicable to every editing software, no matter the brand.
